I’m naked and no one but me has noticed!
ByDo you ever have weird dreams? I don’t know if I ever have normal ones — maybe those are the ones I don’t remember. Some reccuring dreams I have are:
1)The naked dream. I’m at work, church, or school (yep, I go back in time) and suddenly I look down and my girls are hanging out. I guess technically I’m only half-naked. Anyway, I spend the rest of the dream trying to act normal while scheming on how to find an extra shirt lying around. People pass me and talk to me, and never notice! I just keep acting ‘normal’ About the time someone really embarassing, like a preacher or boss or teacher shows up, I wake up. Does this mean that I feel exposed somehow in real life?
2)The unprepared for something dream. This one can go two different directions. One is that I’m in college, it’s finals week, and there’s a class that I totally forgot I had and haven’t attended yet. Or maybe I’ve attended it, but suddenly I can’t remember when it is or where and there’s a final coming up. Anyway, I spend the dream panicking and trying to figure out what the name of the class is. The other way this dream can go is that I’m in some kind of play or musical and suddenly it’s opening night. I have managed to procrastinate (imagine that, me procrastinate!) learning my lines, so the curtain’s coming up and I’m trying to figure out what I’m supposed to say. Mercifully, I always wake up or the dream shifts before I start to ad lib. I suck at ad libbing. This one’s no surprise — I constantly procrastinate, am constantly forgetting stuff, and am constantly unprepared. Not to that extent, but it doesn’t surprise me that I dream about it too.
Do your dreams do that? Morph into something totally different right in the middle? For instance, you’re in a house eating dinner, you stand up and suddenly you’re in an office meeting. Mine do that all the time!
I don’t think I ever want my dreams interpreted. I’m afraid what it might tell me about myself!!! What are your dreams saying?

I have the naked dream a lot. I hate it.

Just kidding. I have had both kinds of dreams you describe. The (almost) naked dream usually has me in church in my underwear. Somehow, I came in without anyone noticing, but there’s no way I’m getting out of there without everyone seeing me. I used to have this dream about once a month–for years. Then, suddenly I quit having it. Maybe once in the past five years.
The other type, the unprepared for something dream, is still with me. The variation I hate the most is what I call the “responsibility dream.” In it, I’m responsible for some task for which I do not have the necessary knowledge, skills, authority, or help. The frustrating part about this one is that I can wake up, realize that I was dreaming, feel relieved, then go back to sleep and right back into the dream. Argggggghhhhh!
Alright, I’ve never had the naked dream, but I have the exact, identical unprepared dream in regard to the realizing that I was supposed to be attending a class all year/semester, and I can’t remember what it is, where it is, what time it is, etc., and now I’m going to flunk it, etc. Isn’t that AMAZING? I find it amazing that dreams are so much alike? How can that be? So, maybe dream interpretation really does have some merit? And, yes, whenever I have that dream recurrently, I am usually winging it through life at that moment, soooo. Interesting . . .
And, of course, now I wonder what the dreams will look like for our homeschooled/unschooled children to represent being “unprepared” since they didn’t go to school . . .?
Usually I have pretty happy dreams but the other night I had a dream that a tornado had come through my house. I did however, come up with the perfect spot to hide if that does happen, so I guess it’s not all bad. My son happened to have another 5 year old boy spend the night, I think my subconscious was a little concerned with the disaster that was happening in Joey’s room!!!
I have the same dreams – exactly. Any chance you’re a fellow theater major? The opening night dream is particularly terrifying to me. The other one I have is that I’m late for class and can’t remember either where my class is or my locker combination. I hate those dreams. I usually have them when I’m stressed out about something.
Hi – I think I’m visiting for the first time here…
I’m the “other” Tammy, I guess! Anyway, just like the first Tammy, I have tornado dreams only most of my life they have been re-occuring, with a different story to go with each tornado. Usually, I’m escaping just in time! The weird thing is that I don’t live in a place that gets them- or at least they are extremely rare.
I haven’t had the naked dream in ages, but use to when I was a teen!
I am so embarassed that my preacher read this post!!! I was assuming that he’d see the naked part and skip it!

I have had the naked dream before and it was one that kept morphing. First I was in school, then church, then outside!

I have the unprepared dream a lot. Usually it’s the night before a big project is due and I haven’t even started it. Sometimes it’s like you describe, where I’ve missed some class all semester and suddenly I have to pass a final. Weird.
I could’ve written this post exactly like you did. It’s hilarious your pastor read it!! Prior to our move to TN, I was on staff at our old church and I woulda DIED. Too funny. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, our phone rang at 6:00 am this morning >:( and I was in the middle of a dream…NOT a naked or unprepared one though.
I’ve never, ever dreamed that i was naked, but I know lot’s of people that do. After my daughter was born I had the un-prepared dream several times. I was in the store, or the park, or my house even and I couldn’t find anything I needed. It was like everything I’d bought or packed had dissapeared. It was awful! here from the BC
I am always having the weirdest dreams……mostly I have the dream where I am late and it goes downhill from there–I always seem to be trying to get soemwhere and stuff keeps happening to keep me from getting there on time-I bet that has some interesting interpretation possibilities in it somewhere.

I have those exact dreams from time to time and for a long time I thought it was just me. I’ve since learned that those are very common dreams…..but they sure are WEIRD! It’s not really my most restful nights!!
