So THAT’S what happened!
Remember when I was complaining about my washing machine not spinning out? Three different people from church called with ideas about what it could be and how to fix it. And the winner is . . . Steve, my husband’s buddy from breadbox (also the name of his blog). He called me with the name of an elder where he used to go to church who has an appliance repair shop. Once the washer finally gave up the ghost, I called. Turns out it was what I thought it was — the belt — but also the lid switch. Now, the belt alone with labor was $220! The switch would have been another $80. For that I could have bought a new washer, albeit not the one I really want. So we decided to go ahead and replace the belt and have him bypass the lid switch. So now we’re spinning. In case you were wondering just what a really old washer belt looks like . . .

I love the one you really want. I have a this little thing where I sometimes forget to change the load size back after doing a small load, never happen with this one!!!
My dryer will be all good to go tomorrow, finally!!!! Just in time to get the bedding washed AGAIN.

I have one similar to your dream machine. And hte dryer to match. It is only the second washer and dryer set of my life, so I figured “what the heck, get what I want.”
Here for C&C Monday.
Careful with that bypass switch. The washer does not quit spinning when you open the lid, and you can reach in and break an arm.

Well- glad you finally got that taken care of! Also- happy Tammy will be in business again! I think The Bosch brand is top notch- their stoves are really nice too! We are remodeling our kitchen and I want a Bosch- hubby wants a Jenn-Air- it’s the small things that make a diff- easy sliding bottom drawer- “clean” look of single knob control- very nice! Anyway- we’ll keep going until one of us wins the other one over! Later girlfriend!

Tammy — Glad your dryer’s back in gear, it’ll be nice to have warm, soft jeans again, won’t it?!
CC — The repairman warned us about bypassing the switch, especially with kids. We’ve warned the girls and the boy can’t climb up there yet.
Hill — I’m not dead-set on a Bosch, but definitely want a water-saving front-loader. A top loader would be OK if it had similar features. I like the water-saving aspect and the no-agitator models — should be easier on the clothes.
