Vote Tuesday
Oh, didn’t you know election day is coming up? You must not live in Michigan then. We were on vacation for 11 days in the beginning of October. We had 16 phone messages — no less than 10 were from campaigns. Aaargh! And it hasn’t slowed down. Today I think I got 3. Does ANYONE out there listen to these messages? They go straight to voicemail on my phone — if your phone number is blocked, or is 1-800-000-0000, then I won’t be picking up. Then, I delete them as first as I hear “Hello. Did you hear that debate?!” Blech. It’s enough to make you give up on both parties. Big things on the ballot tomorrow? The biggest is probably DeVos vs Granholm for governor. Then there are the all-important proposals. A couple make sense — for or against ending Affirmative Action programs for goverment jobs and in universities, for or against added dollars for education, for or against additional protection against Eminent Domain seizures by the government. Then there are the poor mourning doves. I guess people are coming in droves to Michigan to hunt our doves and people are worried they’ll become extinct or some such thing. Really, it just seems comical up against some of the real issues we’re voting on here.
Anyway, I’ll be voting Tuesday. I hope you will be too.
