I’m back — and with BIG news!
Homeschooljournal.net was down for a while, but Andrea managed to get us up and running again — despite being in the middle of a real-life move! Yay Andrea!!! She’s got the details here.
Meanwhile I had huge news and no way to share it!!!! Thursday I got a confirmation that it was OK to tell everyone, but no blog to post it on. So, I e-mailed my family with this picture, while checking every day to see if the blog was back up. So, now it is and you can go look at the picture.
Nope, I’m not freakin’ kidding!! That picture was taken in April, but we waited to tell anyone until we passed the 11-week mark where we lost the baby last year. My doctor was so sweet at my appointment this past Thursday, he did a quick ultrasound so I could see this one is alive and kicking. Well, it wasn’t actually kicking, but the heart is beating and the little peanut is growing. I wish I had a flatbed scanner so I could show you that picture too! The due date is November 30, and we should know if it’s a boy or girl at my next appointment in June.
We are excited. Very surprised, but excited. Squid said to one lady at church (who happens to be a nurse at my OB’s office), “Boy, I’m getting too old for this!” She smarted right back, “Obviously, Squid, you’re not!” I guess God doesn’t think we are either. I have to tell you, though, being pregnant at almost-39 is WAAAAY different than being pregnant at 30. I am exhausted, all the time. The morning all-the-time sickness is letting up now, though, and I only need one 2-hr nap a day now. The girls have been great, getting breakfast when I just can’t get out of bed — and that was before they knew there was another baby. I could milk this reeeeeal good now if I wanted to, lol! Monkey Boy is so cute, he keeps saying he wants to hold his baby brother now!
Well, that’s our news! I’ll be posting more on this topic as things develop.

Wow, Jema!! That’s super-exciting! lol WHO KNEW??! Congratulations, you guys. Thanks for the great info about cicaidas! A couple other people in my ‘circle’ have been able to help me with that info as well! I’ve always heard about them, but never known what they looked like. Just one question: How did it get into our car? And why was it dead? I mean, I guess it could have starved or died from the heat, but … HOW DID IT GET IN THE CAR? And why didn’t we know it was there? Wouldn’t it fly around trying to get out? Hmmm … the Mystery of the Dead Cicaida continues.
