Merry Christmas!!!
Just got the wrapping done and the packages under the tree. We don’t go overboard on gifts, just one each from Mom and Dad and then stocking stuffers. I couldn’t find the Sansa Shakers, but got a good deal on basic mp3 players from RCA. I went to Wal-Mart to see if they had them and checked the toy department while there. Squid had been there the day before and said they were clean out of Autobot Transformers. I took a look — they had 4 Optimus Primes!!! As the mother of a 4yo, this was a major coup! Three other moms snatched the rest up after I got mine, and that was it. The guy said they couldn’t keep Optimus Prime in the store and couldn’t even GET Bumblebee (Monkey Boy’s request). He won’t care, though, he’ll be thrilled with Optimus. Heck, he’ll be thrilled with the Dollar Store knockoff “changing robots” his sister got him — he thinks they’re Transformers too.
I wish I had something deep to say. My depth is all spent nursing this baby and carrying her around all day — she wears me out! But I love it and enjoy it all that I can since I know she’ll be my last. I’m just getting too old for this. I’m glad God gave me the chance to do it all one more time, though. Fiona is an awesome baby. She sleeps well at night, waking a couple of times to nurse before drifting right back off. She loves the Moby Wrap, I keep her in it whenever she insists on being held and I have stuff to do.
I’ve had some interesting thoughts run through my head lately while cleaning or nursing or doing laundry — but by the time I sit down to the computer, I forget what it was I was thinking about! Sigh. I really will post something besides complaints and baby updates. I promise!!!
Anyway, Merry Christmas, every one. Enjoy your holiday!!!

You do amaze me Gem! I wouldn’t have the energy to take care of a baby! I can’t wait to see her!

I think you are very sensible parents. Often, kids just get overwhelmed at Christmas, running from present to present and not enjoying any of them. I remember you girls really liked climbing in and out of the boxes better than the presents. Anyway I know your children appreciate what they get and have time to really enjoy their gifts from you. Good Job, Mom & Dad
